Vienna is the world's most livable city
With a score of 99.1 out of 100 the Austrian capital of Vienna has been ranked as the world's 'most liveable city' in The Economist's annual rankings. A variety of different factors including political stability, health care, crime rate, infrastructure, culture, education and access to green space were descisive for the ranking.
These are the top five cities of 2022:
1. Vienna, Austria
2. Copenhagen, Denmark
3. Zurich, Switzerland & Calgary, Canada
5. Vancouver, Canada
Vienna – which has a population of 1.9 million – has already topped the ranking back in 2018 and 2019. At the beginning of 2021, Vienna fell back to 12th due to strict Covid regulations. After recovering from the pandemic the reopening of entertainment and cultural venues helped to push the city back up to the top of the list.
Congratulations Vienna!
